This clip from Donnie Darko shows the characters travelling and arriving in a very strange way compared to many other movies.

One way that they choose to show this is through camera and editing. One way that they do this is by using track. This gives the viewer the idea that these characters are the main protagonists of the film and they are the ones that you should be watching. this also makes sure that the viewer does not miss anything when they are watching the film.  

Also fast motion was also used when the woman is walking. This makes us feel like she is in a rush and that she is a powerful person. This also gives us a kind of comedic element to the clip as watching someone go n a sped up motion can be seen as funny.

There is also a close up the of the boy doing drugs inside of the school portraying him as a kind of rebellious person. 

Slow motion was used when the girls are dancing making them look more dramatic. In addition when the camera goes on a medium close up of the girls face giving her quite great importance in the movie.
